Woodlands and Carrick YC are beaten

CARRICK teams playing in the Ballymena and Provincial League each scored a goal apiece but ended up losers.

Junior 2 division side Woodlands went down 3-1 to visitors Cookstown Olympic. The home team’s cause was not aided when they had man sent off in the 25th minute and Cookstown scored with the resulting penalty.

Olympic had a two-goal cushion at the break and although Rocky Adair pulled one back for Woodlands and Olympic then had a man sent off, it was the Cookstown team who endured and increased the winning margin late on through Ricky McMenemy.
