Ballymoney Youth Academy 2 v 2 Ulidia

THE under 11’s were forced to reshuffle the team with a couple of no shows on Saturday.

Ulidia quickly took advantage when their captain poked the ball past stand in keeper Ryan McCook to take the lead.

Once settled the youths forced the play, Conleth O’Neill playing well to create chances for Dunlop and McConaghie but sound defending kept them at bay.

Just on half time Conall Doherty was clearly fouled when about to shoot but a penalty was denied by the referee.

In the second half Ballymoney laid siege on the Ulidia goal, Scott Douglas put Ferris clear and his powerful shot caught out the keeper at the near post for the equaliser.

As Ballymoney continued to press Chrissy Moore was twice denied as was Dunlop but the breakthrough came when Jamison’s cross eluded several defenders and Drew McCrellis volleyed home at the back post for a well deserved lead.

However the lead was short lived when Ulidia converted a penalty with five minutes remaining.
