Don't miss this Saturday's Lurgan Show!

FOOD producers from the borough will showcase their fabulous artisan produce at this Saturday's Lurgan Show in Lurgan Park (Saturday, June 3), and at next Saturday's Armagh Show at Gosford Forest Park (June 10).

It will be a unique opportunity to sample wonderful dairy products (milk, milkshakes and butter) from Island Dairies Milk, Dromore; gorgeous home-made jams and chutney, produced by Peggy's Family Farm in Tandragee; lovely ginger wine from Jackson Roze, also in Tandragee; and much more.

With the support of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, around eight local food producers will pitch up at both venues to showcase a fantastic array of artisanal and home-grown food and drink.

The producers will have everything from wholesome jams and chutneys to the finest traditional and rare breed meats, from freshly prepared milkshakes to delicious artisan coffee, from craft beer and cider to authentic ginger wine, to name a few.

Encouraging everyone to come along and support the borough’s amazing Food Heartland producers, ABC Lord Mayor, Councillor Paul Greenfield said: “Through the council’s Food Heartland initiative, we are committed to helping local food and drink producers grow and succeed, and the Lurgan and Armagh Shows represent a fantastic opportunity for these local businesses to connect with customers and share their passion for the goods they make.

“So, make sure you visit our Food Heartland stands at this year’s shows to try some local tasty treats, and learn more about the unique produce made right here in the borough.”

A celebration of everything from farm to fork, the Lurgan and Armagh Shows will cater for everyone, giving you the chance to sample delicious food and drink, watch livestock and equestrian competitions, admire vintage vehicles, browse trade stands, or enjoy the many family-friendly activities on offer on the days.

The Lurgan Show will take place this Saturday from 9am to 5pm at Lurgan Park.

Meanwhile, the Armagh Show will take place on June 10 from 9am to 4pm at Gosford Forest Park.

Tickets for both shows can be purchased on the day. Admission is £10 for adults (concession: £5).
